We all met in Houston for New Years…to celebrate both Christmas and New Years with the fam. Owen loves a good party so he was out of control with excitement all weekend. We exchanged gifts Friday night, shopped/played golf on Saturday, and then watched the ball drop Saturday night. It was a wonderful weekend. Thanks for everything JuJu and Bon Pa! Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to everyone!
Christmas morning was so much fun with Owen this year. He opened all of his gifts and then all of Abigail’s gifts (she slept through everything). We played all morning with his new toys, went to mass, and then waited for our guests to arrive. First, Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle Scott, and Aunt Ginny arrived to see what the kids got from Santa. They stayed for a couple hours and then shift 2 arrived…Bon Pa, Ju Ju, and Addie. When Ju Ju asked Owen if Santa was coming again the next night, he replied “Why?! I already got my scoota!”…so I am assuming he was pleased with what Santa brought him ;) On Monday, they loaded up Bon Pa’s truck (scoota in-tow) and headed to the camp and Texas. Owen was in heaven all week…and Mommy and Papa got to recover from the holiday chaos.
We spent Christmas Eve in Baton Rouge with the Anderson family. We had a wonderful time and Owen loved helping everyone open their presents ;)
On Christmas Eve morning we headed out to the front yard to put out the reindeer food. We knew the kids would both be passed out when we got back from Baton Rouge, so we wanted to do it before we left. So much fun!
Per our family tradition, Owen got to open one gift on the day before Christmas Eve. He had to wait until after his nap and he was so anxious. We got him the game Zingo and when he opened it he told us “Um, I want to open a different one.” Ha! He was not impressed, but once we showed him what it was and how to play, he loved it.
