Lolly is Engaged!

Lafayette 001 Lafayette 002 Lafayette 003Lafayette 006Lafayette 007Lafayette 009 Lauren and Gibson are engaged!  We are so excited for both of them.  On Saturday, Owen and I met Lauren and Erin for lunch to celebrate.  We ate at Village Cafe and toasted to the wonderful news.  Since big O was a pretty good sport at lunch, we took him to play at the park in River Ranch for a little while and then to Mrs. Debbie’s for a visit.  He had quite an adventure playing on the tennis courts and of course in the dog kennel.  It was a fun day and Owen slept the whole way home.

School Mardi Gras

Pre School Mardi Gras 2011 002Mardi Gras 005Mardi Gras 009 Mardi Gras 011Mardi Gras 018Pre School Mardi Gras 2011 024    One of the Mardi Gras Crews of Houma came to Owen’s school for a parade.  Most of the kids were excited…the others were scared to death.  Owen and Reese (his girlfriend) stuck by my side during the parade, but they didn’t cry.  I think they had more fun sorting through their goodies after the commotion was over.  We’re not sure if Reese is really Owen’s girlfriend, but they are definitely best friends.  Their teacher told me that they only play with each other during the day, they sit together at lunch, and have to have their nap mats next to each other for nap time.  Reese’s mom said that all Reese talks about at home is Owen.  We think it’s pretty funny, but if we ask Owen about it he gets embarrassed and tells us to stop.  Too cute!

We traveled all over Louisiana this weekend.  After school on Friday we headed to the camp.  I had so much fun and got really dirty.  I played in Bon Pa’s dirt pile, visited the pig barn, went to Ellis’ birthday party, got to see the new baby on an ultrasound, and had friends over for a BBQ on Saturday night.  On Sunday we went to Baton Rouge to visit Grandpa and Grandma.  Cecilia came to play with me and we had a blast playing outside.  We were pretty tired this morning, but all the traveling was worth it.  It was great to see everyone.  Love you all!

Baby Note:  Aunt Lori did another ultrasound on Saturday, but we still can’t tell for sure if the new baby is a boy or a girl. There was a little something there, but she said that we could see that for either.  Now JuJu, Bon Pa, and Papa are telling everyone it’s a boy…but Mommy, Nanny, and Sessy are still saying girl.

Spoiled Rotten

Owen 676 Owen 687Owen 681Owen 691 Owen 694 Owen 696Owen 699 Owen 700Owen 702 I got spoiled rotten by Grandma this weekend.  She lets me do and have whatever I ask for.  I love to pet the horse and see the kittens at her house.  The horse tried to eat my hair while I was petting it.  He probably thought it was hay.  Grandma made me a cake for my birthday that is coming up and let me stick my fingers in it.  I wanted the whole cake, and she didn’t argue.  I don’t think Mommy was too happy though :)  Love you more Grandma!

P.S.  Aunt Lori took a peek at the new baby this weekend.  It’s still too early to be sure, but we didn’t see any boy parts.  Yay!  So we are calling her a girl until proven otherwise.  Bon Pa and Papa aren’t buying it yet ;)

A Means To An End

Owen 068 Owen 069 Owen 070 Owen had tubes put in his ears and his adenoids removed today.  We were at the surgery center for 6:15 am and home by 10:00 am.  Everything went smoothly for the most part.  He started screaming when we got into our room…I think he knew something was up.  They gave him some medicine to relax and after about 10 minutes he was all smiles.  He told everyone that came into our room that he was “two!”.  The anesthesiologist took him from us and we got him back about an hour later.  He was cranky and very sleepy from the anesthesia, but he slowly woke up and asked for his juice and a blue popsicle.  He took a nap when we got home and was ready to go when he woke up.  Hopefully this will help with his frequent infections and keep us from visiting the pediatrician so often.
